I was trying to buy yarn that was advertised as having a discount but when it sent me to the Joanneās website for checkout, there was no sale andthe price increased. Does anyone know why this happens?
I noticed the same thing. Letās tag @Ribblr for some guidance.
That doesnāt sound right and weād like to investigate it. Can you please share some products here as an example?
It is happening to me right now with Lion Brand Basic Stitch. In the description it says āsold in a lot of 3ā. It says 80% off. 3 skeins for $3.99. Original price is $18.99. When I add them to my cart on Ribblr it shows a total for $3.99 each. When I am redirected to JoAnn, the price jumps to $13.49 each. Individual skeins of the same on Ribblr are priced at $3.99 with an original price of $6.49. Given this, it is clear to me the advertised price is for 3 skeins.
I am going to buy it because Ribblr says that the price ends in 7 hours in one place and 2 hours in another - and I need to go to bed. If the price isnāt honored I will ask someone to return it as I have a spinal cord injury that doesnāt allow me to drive, but this really should be honored at $3.99/3 skein pack.
(See photos below. I changed the quantity of one pack from 3 in Ribblr to 4 in JoAnn, but otherwise this shows the error we are referring to)
Our team are looking into this and whether there are errors and why. We apologise for any inconvenience.
However please note the final price shown as ātotalā when you checkout is always the correct price youāll pay. In your case it shows as $98.61 from your images, so that would be the price to be charged if you choose to go ahead with the purchase.
Then I will cancel or return my order. Iām older and it has always been the case in my life that even if the advertised price is in error, it is honored until posted otherwise.
I want to update you on this situation because it didnāt seem right to me. You said the total is what Iāll pay and that my photos showed a total of $98.61. While that was my total once I went to Joann, the total in my Ribblr cart was $23.94. Also, it was advertised as 80% off and the regular price was listed as $18.99 which makes the sale price of $3.99 for 3 skeins make sense (though 80% off $18.99 should be $3.80).
Even if this was all an error, your response said to me āyou canāt depend on what we advertise, so spend time selecting yarn and colors at your own risk because you wonāt know if it is correct until you are transferred to Joann.ā
So, I contacted Joann by text. I shared the same photos and information with them that I shared here. They refunded the difference without another question.
l have asked Ribblr support a private question in the past and your reply was incredibly supportive. That is why I am sharing this, not to complain, but because I really like Ribblr and this error and the response to it dies not instill the confidence I believe it deserves.
Thanks for sharing! We are striving to provide the best experience so Iām sorry you felt confused by our response.
Regarding prices showing differently- whilst we do provide special coupons our prices are identical to JOANN as they fulfill each order. However if you keep a page open for a few hours or during a price update, for example, there is a chance that youāll see a price that isnāt correct anymore. Thatās why you should always count on the final price shown before payment as this will always be accurate.
All orders are fulfilled by JOANN and therefore as mentioned any issue regarding an order should be raised directly to the JOANN customer support. Unfortunately our team has no control over refunding or cancelling orders. If you come across something you believe is an error please reach out to us and weāll look into it as soon as possible.
Thanks again and have a great weekend
I appreciate your response. I donāt recall be told to issues should be raised directlynwoth Joann, but perhaps it was a reply to someone else.
I didnāt leave the window open, but I can see where that could happen.
Perhaps letting us know that price issues should be brought up with Joann more prominently or in reply would be helpful.
Again, I am a Ribblr fan and appreciate it, and am genuinely trying to provide feedback to help in the future.
