Controversial crochet question ! (Try saying that 3x fast.)
Do you prefer safety eyes or embroidered eyes? I personally don’t mind either, but I’d choose embroidered eyes because:
They’re more easy to customize. I usually make big plushes, and I’m not really looking forward to a blank stare on my bed when I’m sleeping. I’d use safety eyes for realistic birds maybe. But I love to customize my eyes- little highlights- blush- eyelashes- all that stuff.
THE STRUGGLE- putting on safety eyes is like putting a glass blade through a needle’s eye. They also come off easy- which is a sad no no. They pain my hands to the point my dad can’t apply them!
Either way, I’d use either, but embroidered eyes steal my heart- what’s your opinon?

Wellllll it depends. I like how embroidered eyes can make things kid and pet safe, and they ARE more customizable. But I also like the look of safety eyes on certain projects, and they come in different styles… It can be hard to put them in tho. So it’s a tie!

Yup! 10000% agree. Safety eyes are a nice look when making birds. But plushes are a big no-no. Especiallyy for kids!!

CONTROVERSIAL CROCHET QUESTION, CONTROVERSIAL CROCHET QUESTION, CONTROVERSIAL CROCHET QUESTION.
Okay, anyway…I’m not very good at embroidery, so I definitely prefer safety eyes. They’re not hard for me to put on, for some reason (shkillz) and they’re just a lot more convenient. I AM, in fact, still learning how to embroider eyes well, so we’ll see. My first attempt was… um… sleepy dino

Honestly for me it depends on my laziness to be exact. Safety eyes sometimes look better or embroidered ones would look better, depends on what your making ig. But I’m kinda leaning more towards embroidered ones since i recently started to do more embroidered eyes (shoutout to @shrimpybrimpy because she kinda inspired me to embroider eyes since all her makes are with embroidered eyes, AND THEY ARE SO ADORABLE
)

Haha! I was searching how to embroider eyes, and turns out you just sew in the same 2 stitches till ya get a nice little circle. I can’t do it cuz frog hands… wait don’t axolotls have the same hands as I do?
Either way, safety eyes kinda… look…. Blank…
Also congrats on saying that 3x fast!! You get the amphibian of the month!! (No idea how axolotls are amphibians cuz they mostly live in water… idk)

They only costed a few trillion. A steal! Peanuts for a VERY ROICH axolotl like myself.

I use safety eyes since I’m lazy, but if i’m making it for a baby I will embroider sleeping eyes. I can’t for the life of me embroider eyes that aren’t closed, which is why i’m saving up for a cricut maker.

I personally LOVE safety eyes because
- they’re not that hard for me to put in tbh, if you get the right brand
- I don’t have to put actual braincells into making smth look good XD
- they don’t come out for me at all even if I pull as hard as I can, you should get better safety eyes that’s concerning (not to be rude)

Haha! Have’ve you heard of the trick where you sew between two stitches over and over and over and over and over again that it becomes a circle? I do love sleepy animals tho.
