I’m trying to find a pyramid-shaped pillow pattern. Not a pillow case, but to make the actual pillow. And I need it to be worsted-friendly.
I was trying to follow Yarnspiration’s mosaic triangle pillow pattern, but it’s… not working. I don’t know what’s wrong, but I’ve just given up (long story short, 17sc does not go into 100ch 11 times) and I’m hoping that you guys might be able to help me find a suitable pattern to replace it with.
I’m hoping to get a pillow 20 inches across at minimum and.. idk how high I need it. If it can scale easily, even better because then I can just adjust on the fly.
I finally got some time to try this. Very interesting. I think you should try it also. Just trust the pattern. (I hate saying that, without knowing but … ) I got the first square done. The 17 sts, are 2 sides of the first square, with the 3 stitch decrease being the corner.
The second square starts by working on the left side of the first square, and then continuing down the chain, for the next 17 sts. But, only half are from the foundation chain. Might be better to quote the pattern:
“Work 9 sc down side of Square.
Work 1 sc in each of next 8 ch from
foundation ch.”
So, so far, we have 2 squares, but only used 25 of the chain.
I hope this helps. I will continue on, just not sure how much I can get done in the next few days.
If you look at the chart , you will see square one in the corner. That’s the one I just did.
You use 19 chains for the first square. With a (3 SC together as one) that makes the first square total 17 sts.
Then, you work down the side of the square just finished, and turn to use 8 more sts from the chain. This is done for the last 10 squares. So, 8 (per square) x 10 (squares) = 80 chain sts.
Add the first 19 to the 80, you have 99 chain sts. And, since you started in the 2nd st of the chain, that totals out correctly with a chain of 100.
