Would anyone actually pay a lot extra for an "exclusive pattern"?

I remember seeing maybe back in June or July a crocheter posting about her monthly pattern club drop, where she has like 100 people in a club paying a membership to get exclusive patterns every month. But you would obviously make so much more money just making it a regular paid pattern for everyone, so that means the prices for the club would have to be high for it to make sense to do. So I’m just wondering if this is something people would actually invest in?? Or if its even a good business model. I know for some small biz owner, monthly memberships are good for physical products, because it means a set amount of income and knowing how much to spend and how much you’re earning. But for a digital pattern biz, I don’t see why this would work? And again, would anyone pay to have that type of exclusivity? I’m juts curious!

I personally would not. That’s just my view on it though.

I wouldn’t because I simply can’t afford it.

I think the guarantee that people will be charged regardless of whether they decide to make an actual purchase makes this worth it. I don’t know the statistics, but so many businesses operate with similar deals (e.g., coupons, buying so many of one thing to get a gift card, etc.) all of this guarantees a sale and if you can guarantee a sale and future sales that don’t depend on the person getting out their card again, returning to the store, etc. the benefits must compound.
