You won't believe this.

I just wanted to let you all know what I found! Maybe they have peoples permissions, I don’t know. I was on Etsy and found a store called CuteCoPatterns. They offer groups of 100 plus patterns for $3. Problem is most of the patterns were from my friends (all y’all fellow Ribblers). Did you know they were calling the patterns their original works and using your creations? And trying to make a profit while doing it. I thought this was very wrong.

I think I found it! Just search “Etsy.com/shop/CuteCoPatterns” they are all ai generated :sob:

yeah they are totally AI

But the sad thing is…. It’s not against Etsy’s policies :woman_facepalming:! (I looked it up) you can sell anything ai generated as long as you gave it the prompts and you aren’t just selling ai prompts, otherwise they support it!

Yeah, that’s one of the many reasons I haven’t sold on esty. Makes me wonder just how much visibility has gone down for genuine creators with the influx of all the AI patterns.

Oh no, :frowning_with_open_mouth: the cover photos are ai generated…… but the patterns are STOLEN from other artists (example)

This was from a review! (So many patterns could possibly be stolen from artists everywhere!) to see this review I had to click on ALL reviews because these reviews don’t show up on the front page when you click on listings!

Just more scummy people… will have to try and report or at the very least try to contact some of the designers they stole from… :sob: :sob: :sob:

I know, it’s so sad :disappointed:. They have also made 1,500 sales?! They have made so much money off OTHER PEOPLES work!

Well when I’m looking at the reviews, I think a decent amount are fake… Like why would someone post a photo of a “finished object” and it says “free pattern” on the image…

There are so many good reviews though… That’s really weird

But they’re more recent, have very similar verbiage, and are super short… I think they are trying to bury the bad reviews with a bunch of newer “good” reviews. Definietly did scam some people though. But I think most people would be able to see the if they opened the pattern they would see the watermarks and disclaimers and realize that they were scammed and write a bad review. (at least this is part of why I think the sales are fake)
