Your Beginner Mistakes

Hi guys I was just wondering what some of your beginner mistakes were when you first started to crochet. I taught myself to crochet, so there are quite a few for me lol :joy:. I have mostly done only amigurumi so far, except for 1 small bucket bag. Anyway, mistakes:
1. Using sl st instead of sc
2. Crocheting in the FLO
3. My amigurumi projects were flipped inside out and I would finish them off like that because I didn’t know

I hope beginners can learns from some of these mistakes :hearts:

P.s: I’m not on here much, so sorry if I don’t answer right away.

On a flat piece I would add an extra stitch at the end, or miss one. Nothing ended up square. I learned to count stitches.

oooh o got plenty of these

  1. i crochet in BLO for sooo long on everything
  2. for a while i would either not ch 1 and turn when making something flat or add extra stiches on accident
  3. not flipping it inside out like you said lol
  4. for the first bit i started, i didn’t tie knots before cutting my yarn, i just kinda tucked it into the plushy lol

I would do something kinda like this. I forgot to mention, for some reason ?I would never count the stitch under my stitch marker which makes no sense lol :man_shrugging:

It took me a few tries to get my magic rings. I was trying to teach my mom and she couldn’t get it so that’s not too bad. Also my tension would make my stitches a bunch of different sizes.

That’s awesome you mastered the magic ring so quickly! Also I hate when I sew pieces on a plush and they end up crooked :sob: :smiling_face_with_tear:.

Same! I struggle with the sewing too. Not as much as I used to, but still a bit.
