This is soo cool! Thank youuu
This already exists. Just go to your profile, then click on “Preferences”, then “Users”. You’re able to add people to an ignore list so that you don’t see any of their activity.
But it doesn’t have the same restrictiveness as the block button. With the ignore button, they can still see what you are up to.
If there is a user who is so concerning that you don’t want them to see any of your activity, you might need to report them to Ribblr directly and they will address the issue. That’s the difference between here and social media, Ribblr cares about the community and only encourages positivity (it’s in the terms and conditions of using the forum). Anyone who displays negative behaviour towards others is able to be reported, unlike on social media where “any interaction” is considered “good interaction”.
Great work @Ribblr! Thank you for putting in the time to do all of these amazing updates
I have this same problem and DM d you
I understand what you mean, I still think it would be a great tool for users the possibility to have that block button as we have the block testers one.
Block testers doesn’t stop them from seeing any of your posts though, it only prevents their application to test your pattern from going through. The existing ignore feature does pretty much the same thing, people who are ignored are unable to contact you.
To enclose this discussion and not going any further with this, as I understand why you disagree with your point of view, I still see it would be a great possibility to have this block button as in the rest of social media as I have stated and explained why in the previous messages. It would be a positive experience for us as users to have it, this don’t make it a disregard for the Ribblr experience as a whole or incompatible in my opinion. You have your own opinion about this issue and I have mine, and this contributes positively to the community as well.
Greetings!
I apologize if I came across as argumentative. I do not understand from your messages how what you described would positively benefit the community (as it could cause confusion by creating gaps in message chains if some replies are not visible because the person viewing has been “blocked” by another user), but I agree that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It is also currently possible to make your profile private, but then no one is able to view it. Perhaps a better solution would be to make the profile selectively private, so you can choose if certain users are unable to view it. This would prevent them from seeing your activity, without disrupting the forum.
It cant possibly not be a viable way to earn given the amount of ads in free patterns. Id like to do more free patterns on my shop because theres lots of kids here so its nice if they dont have to pay for patterns but as the designer at the moment i don’t get anything for my hard work because all the revenue from those ads presumably goes elsewhere and the beta has been running since may /june 2023? @ribblr please roll it out to everyone
