Hey guys! After everything that’s happened this week, I’ve decided to make a free pattern. It’s a little baby Blåhaj, the Ikea shark that has become a mascot of the trans community.
I know a lot of people are nervous about what’s going on in the US. Me and my friends are queer youth in the States. I’m making baby Blåhajs for all of my friends to hopefully be a source of comfort for them.
I hope this pattern reminds everyone that you are loved and you are valid. Stay strong. Don’t give up. Remember that you have a community that cares about you. This goes for straight allies, too; we welcome you with open arms. For my fellow queer youth, especially those who are closeted: your community will protect you. We will make sure that this world is a safe place for everyone. We will not be erased. Stay strong.
I’m sorry that this is something we’ll have to go through, but we’ll be going through it together, and in this beautiful community, we support each other.

I highly recommend making these trans pride sharks for LGBTQ+ people in your life to remind them how much you care. I think this would also be a great fundraiser, you could sell these to raise money for charities like the Trevor Project. Join me in filling the world with Blåhaj, love, and hope.
