Acrylic paint on yarn?

Hi everyone!

This might be a really dumb question but can you use acrylic paint on yarn? Has anyone used that instead of fabric paint? I wanted to know if it works the “same” before I buy fabric paint. I’m trying to paint the straw hat flag thingy on a whale (to make la boon).

you can, but it’s gonna make the crochet stiff

farbic paint is made so that it doesn’t chqnge the fabric much, and acrylics will make it really stiff, but if that’s not an issues for you it’s totally okay :two_hearts:

I don’t think that will be an issue since it’s more for like a decoration piece but will the paint crack or flake off?

i don’t think so, it never did in my case but maybe don’t put too much so you can avoid that
