Hewwo fellow ribblrs (ribblirians?)! I have my first market in September and I wanted to start preparing. I mostly have acrylic yarn at the moment and I’m broke don’t have the funds to buy plush yarn lol. Is there anything made with acrylic yarn that sells well? I see mostly plush plushies (well duh they’re called plushies) and was wondering if stuff made with acrylic actually sells or if I should stop being a potato and find a way to afford plush yarn.
Thanks

All different kinds of frogs are cute in acrylic if you have the right green
And a little bit of self promo but i have a scrunchie pattern that uses acrylic.
Thank you!
Almost everything I make is acrylic, I definitely think plush yarn sells better, but i’m in the same boat as you. I don’t really want to switch because I like acrylic better and also pretty much my entire yarn stash is acrylic and I would have to buy a lot of plush to fully replace it
also it’s expensive
and I don’t have space for more yarn
I have a hack I use for arylic plushies at markets:
I use a cheap dog brush from a pet store and brush the final plushie to make it fluffy!
They do sell better, but it all depends on who shows up!
You could make flowers or coasters. I don’t see a lot of those in plush yarn.
Ifcyou are not able to find things that sell well with acrylic, you can fold the yarn together in some way and you now have thicker yarn. (I’ll try to find the video I learned that from)
What you could probably do is find thrifted plush yarn for SUPER cheap or sell some acrylic things, save up for your market, and get a TON of plush yarn.
