Hey all I was a little confused on a pattern, ive mixed different free patterns together to make my own like a bobble stitch and some stitches from other patterns, would that class as a pattern ice created or not?

Just for clarification to make sure I understand:
You used parts of other patterns to create something else?
Yes that is correct
So stitches are used commonly in every pattern. Bobble stitches are used normally in amigurumi patterns.
Using a certain type of stitch doesn’t make it copying.
On the other hand tho:
Using bits and pieces of others patterns, free or otherwise, to make your own thing is copying others work (aka plagiarism).
So if you took certain lines of various patterns to create your own thing, no, it is not yours. It is just plagiarism of various patterns.
To be abundantly clear:
You cannot copy from other designers patterns in part or in whole.
Okay thank you I just wanted to make sure as I was writing down stitches and stuff to make a no sew kitty and didnt know if it was classed as my own or something else

If you are designing a pattern, I would advise against looking through other patterns to aid in writing a pattern. Doing so increases your risk of plagiarism of other patterns.
You need to do it without the use of other patterns.
If you are not ready to design yet due to skill level, lack of inspiration, or whatever else it may be…that is perfectly fine. There is no race to open a shop and design a pattern.
My thoughts, take it or leave it:
Take some more time as a maker so you can be very familiar with the various stitches used in amigurumi…that way you don’t have to look at other patterns for stitches.
Yeah no I was just wanting to make what I was making smaller so it looked a little cuter to me is all I was just interested in how pattern making works and what is right and what is wrong
