Hi, I’m 25 years old and I have always loved crafting (specifically wood burning art and miniatures) but now I would like to learn crocheting. So I can make all the really cute things I keep seeing in Pinterest lol. But I have never attempted anything like this and would love any tips. Also if you know some truly beginner friendly designs on here and would like to share I would be so grateful!!!

I started off like you. Looking at Pinterest and wanting to make all those amazing things that I saw there. So I taught myself on youtube and later discovered Ribblr.
One of the best features here on ribblr for beginners is that when you open up any pattern, all the basic stitches etc (abbreviations) have a dotted line under them. When you hover over them a pop up will appear telling you what the abbreviation stands for and if a video instruction is available. If you click on the abbreviation a video will appear on your screen and show you how to do that exact stitch.
There are many free patterns available for beginners here on Ribblr which will help you develop your skills.
Ribblr also has many video patterns (called V-Patterns) available which are basically like youtube videos that can be of great help beginners. Look out for patterns that have a Pink and Purple/Blue arrow on the image. These are the video patterns.
I recommend starting off with patterns that will teach you the basic stitches (sc, dc, tr). My suggestion would be to start with coasters, dish cloths and other small projects to get you used to the ‘feel’ of crochet. Once you know the basics you can do anything.
