Advice & Tester Call for My First Crochet Pattern Design

Hi everyone,

I’ve been crocheting for about 4-5 months now (but obsessively, like 7-8 hours a day—oops!). Recently, I designed my first pattern—a pretty basic mushroom. I’ve already noticed a couple of things I want to tweak, but I’d love to hear any advice or suggestions for improving it or approaching pattern design in general.

I’d also like to ask for testers! This is my first pattern, and I plan to release it for free, possibly with a video tutorial. How does the whole testing process usually work? Any tips for organizing it would be super helpful!

One more thing: If I do something in my pattern that doesn’t follow the “standard” way of doing things, but it still works as I want it to, is that considered technically wrong? Or can we just say, “If it works, it works”?

I just don’t want to accidentally do something silly or unhelpful for others. Thanks so much in advance for your thoughts and guidance!

Welcome!! THAT IS SO CUTE!! first if your gonna post tester calls you need to open a shop (use this link to open a shop) then from your shop write the pattern then from there you can post a tester call

First of all, thank you so much for the information!
!
For example, when I do this cylindrical look, I first use only the front loops, then switch to back loops with a color change. After that, I didn’t like how it looked, so I decided to finish the front loops only with a slip stitch and start fresh with the back loops. I’ve never seen anyone do it this way, but it kinda works. I hope it’s not a stupid solution. To make it look more cylindrical, I sewed down the side of the mushroom a little and tucked in the end (I try to explain in the picture, i hope it works :sob::sob:).
