This Friday I will be joining Vincent on the Ribblr Show and Iām going to share some behind the scenes from our upcoming glow-up update! I will also be answering some of your questions from the chat, but I thought it could be nice to write a post as well and see if you have anything to ask me about Ribblr (or just in general )ā¦
I hope itās okay to ask. But Iām curious whatās going to happen to the material section since Joanneās is closing. Will we still be able to buy yarn or will that section go away when Joannās does?
Hello!!!
Uhmmm yes sooo THANK U SOOOO MUCH FOR CREATING RIBBLR!!! This app is so amazing and I love being able to share my patterns with others!!!
My question is⦠what is your favorite yarn to crochet with?
Hi, thank you so much for creating ribblr , this is my favorite place. How did you come up with the idea to create ribblr and how did ribblr get its name?
hmmmā¦I canāt choose one, it depends what Iām in the mood for⦠But I love this penguin pattern, I made it a few times as gifts: FREE Ping the smol penguin: Crochet pattern | Ribblr?
If you make it with chunky yarn, it turns out much larger! so cute!
I loved crocheting for many years, and always free-handed, so I decided to write up patterns. Shortly after I started designing patterns, I found it hard to focus on what I actually loved, which was creating the design, as working on the instruction file was very consuming, especially as I wanted to provide my followers a really great document (With pictures, videos, that it clear to understandā¦). Not to mention all the work you have to do to create product listing on different platforms.
My partner Saar noticed my struggles, and coming from technological background, he was shocked that there isnāt a more streamlined simple way for designers and crafters, so we sat down and brainstormed, and penned down the idea of Ribblr
We are working on it, we plan to collaborate with a partner that will allow us to provide the best materials to all of our users, but it can take some time to implement and approve, so thank you for your patience, we really appreciate it!
hmmmmmmmmā¦hard to say, it depends on what Iām making⦠I still havenāt tried all the different types of composition combinations, but I really like plant based yarn like bamboo!
I really want to love animal fiber but still havenāt found the perfect blendā¦There was one I had with alpaca years ago, and I actually really liked it, so I still need to experiment moreā¦Any recommendations?
I feel like some of my best works are gifts to people I love, mainly amigurmuis of characters they like, but back when I started crocheting, maybe my second year of crocheting, I free-handed a crochet wolverine backpack that I was SO PERFECT! I really loved it, and to this day Iām very proud of it
Thank you! I already answered about the origin of Ribblr here:
But in terms of the name, we had lots of different ideas that were more āfiberā related, but decided to create a nonsense sounding word that had roots of fiber art terms - for Ribblr, it was Ribbing, but the word Ribblr itself doesnāt mean much, we just liked the sound of it!
Thank you so much for creating Ribblr! This place has become a core part of me, lol. My questions are:
Whatās your favorite aspect of Ribblr? What about your least favorite or things that need tweaking? What are your favorite crochet content creators? (Sorry for how long this is )
