I have seen it both ways FLO and BLO. Which one is better?
I’ve been using the FLO technique, but if the other way is a bit better I’ll do that instead.
What is the consensus?

It depends on the need. Blo usually leaves the fl to add something, like a sleeve or …
I usually do an invisible decrease in FLO, as the resulting st matches the surrounding sts, which were worked in both loops.
My invisible decrease is to go into first stitch and work to final pull through, go into next stitch and work to final pull through, (continue if instructed) then work the final pull through on all stitches at once
I have never seen flo/blo instructions for it
I always do flo
I’ve only ever done flo
I feel like blo wouldn’t be invisible because the two front loops would still be visible?
Yes, on front loops.
However, if you’re flipping your work inside out at the end, I do the invisible decrease in the back loop.
Yeah, fl for me. Gives me the complete invisible look for how I crochet
Front loops for me!
I do the flo. I used to do them through the whole stitch before but this looks way neater
So it really depends on the project, the desired look, etc
Typically for Ami you are working in the round with RS facing, so you want to go into flo… However if you are turning rows, or the “WS” is what you be seeing, you want to work into blo…
I don’t make amigurumi, so I use both depending on my project
Also, like mentioned above if you want the loops to show for an aesthetic then you’ll do the the loops on the opposite side of your final “RS”
@anon5108995 here’s a great tutorial for invisible decreases for sc using flo
I understand how to do it, I have just never been instructed to do so in a pattern before. But I guess as we continue to get people learning from youtube from people that also learn on youtube from people that also learned on youtube, we get further and further away from what used to be
I use FLO
Oh… Ira Rott uses it in her patterns… That was actually the first time I heard about it
Not sure that progress/change is a bad thing though… Especially for a cleaner look
i like flo more
Flo, probably. Blo usually leaves a “ridge”
I personally dont use any special techniques, I just keep my tension as tight as I can…Which definitely helps! I’ve yet to find the perfect decrease method tho…But for me FLO
i always do flo because then the back loops cover up the lil holes and not stuffing comes through
