Amigurumi tip yarn over vs yarn under

Something that ive learned over the past few years is really neat tricks to get your amigurumi looking better.
The yarn over vs yarn under have their own benefits but when we use specific yarns it does make a huge difference.
Yarn over usually produces a more porous result while the yarn under is tighter.
Worsted weight yarn to me is one of the worst culprits but everyone has success with certian yarns vs others.

What are your fav weights of yarns for amigurumi?

I just learned about this last year and I have been using this technique ever since. It really does make a big difference. I mostly use worsted yarn like Red Heart so I also drop my hook size to a 3.25 for most patterns and the result is very good.

! I don’t know if what I’m going to say can help but i will give a try.

I use the two techniques and i really love them. Yarn Over is more appreciated to go fast, and Yarn Under for tighten the stitches. When i want to do some fluffy stuffs i use YO and when i want something more bold I use YU.

I have to tell that YU is more tiring that YO but i have less difficulties when i hold my work as a knitting work, the skein thread is on my left index and i hold my work between my thumb and my middle finger of the left hand.

And then i hold my hook like a pen with the right one and help it to go through stitches with the other fingers on my hands.

I hope it’s clear bc even in my native language I couldn’t explain it more clearly
But with that, i crochet more quicker with YU and it’s not so tiring
