Any tips

I recently became homeschooled and with homeschool comes a lot of free time. And with free time comes boredom. So I’ve been thinking of getting in to digital art bc I might get an iPad soon.
But I’m… horrible ahem not very good at art (to put it nicely).
Does anyone have any tips on how to get better at art/digital art?

As a homeschooler, yes, u have a lot of free time (if ur parents don’t give u a lot to do lolsies TwT), and YES!! COME AND JOIN THE ART WORLD OwO
XD
And as a somewhat artsy person, for tips I’d say first learn how to use whatever app u choose. There’s a whole lot of youtube tutorials for that :)
And then, learn the basics from art!! It helps A LOT. U don’t have to achieve perfection in any of them, but it’s good to learn how to think when u draw. It makes a BIG difference :3
And last but not least… find artists u like so u can get good references and find what u really like to draw! X3
Also, don’t put too much pressure on yourself, pleez. Nothing u make at first might come out “perfect”, but it has to be done so u can get better ^^ and there is no real “perfect”, so as long as u are happy with it, it’s perfect :3
Sorry for my yapping @^@ I think I got way too excited for u :D
Wishing u the best!! <33333

Doodle! :D Its actually good practice. And look up tips and tricks for the app you are using like clipping masks and blending, stuff like that. Cuz they are just fun to use and the more fun you have the more motivated you will be!

Mostly just practice, practice, practice! Make sure to watch LOTS of tutorials on how to use the specific art program you want to use, it can take a long time just to figure out all the shortcuts that digital art programs offer but it’s TOTALLY worth it! In the beginning it’s gonna be a lot of experimentation but you will get the hang of it! You should also start out with a nockoff Apple Pencil (unless you want to spend 100-80 dollars on a REAL Apple Pencil :sob:! Which I have yet to do) I currently just have a random one off Amazon that was 15-20 bucks, BUT non apple pencils don’t have pressure sensitivity so that can limit all the features for different brushes you use in procreate! (I use procreate and it’s a REALLY good program, it only costs 10-12 dollars as well!) another really cool thing is you can add onto original artworks digitally to make them better! For example here are some of the things I’ve drawn on my old 6th gen iPad with a 15 dollar pencil, and 12 dollar procreate!

(They have scribbles on the, because I don’t want anyone stealing them )
