So, my husband does 3d Printing for part of our craft business, so I get to keep and use all the old filament spools and boxes. For a while I’ve been using a filament spool keeper that he printed which he found on Thingiverse (I think) but I finally got tired of how poorly it was constructed and made my own.
I wanted to offer to share the .stl files if any of you 3d print and are interested!
I may also sell them fully printed if there’s interested, though I’m not sure the price yet. So… Anyone do 3D printing and yarnwork?
This is the current final version, and it IS modular. I’m planning on adding a drawer system for underneath, I just need to get them built.
My dad has a 3d printer! He also has a resin one but we haven’t set it up yet. I don’t use it for crocheting or anything but he may make me a stamp with my initials on it for pottery! I just started trying pottery with my mom!
Oh, VERY cool! Well, you might see if he’ll throw a spare PLA spool your way, if you ever need a way to hold yarn on a dying skein. It’s very convenient. ^-^
Hope you enjoy pottery! I liked playing with clay when I was younger, but I have an aversion to anything slimy, goopy, or between my fingers, now. Drives me bananas.
My dad actually owns two 3D printers, but he mostly just makes minis for board games and such. I have been wanting to learn how to use them and print out some of my own things!
You might try downloading Bambu Studio and looking at a youtube tutorial or two. It’s not a terribly robust modelling but there’s enough tools to help you get used to it.
That’s so cool! 3d design always wows me. I’ve never done it myself, but I have a few friends and ppl Ik who do. Not the same thing, but my lil brother has a 3d pen I made a mushroom out of! Def tricky, but kinda fun
