Anyone into country? 🤠❤️

Idk about you, but I come out of the U.S., particulary the Southeast part of it, and I’ve really grown to love down-home meals, working out in the garden, and listening to Johnny Cash, Bill Monroe (Father of Bluegrass), Willie Nelson, and Ernest Tubb. I also love Dolly Parton, Marty Robbins, Merle Haggard, and Waylon Jennings

How bout ya’ll? Do I have any feller hillbillies, rednecks, or southern folk?

I added the # good vibes and # get to know you tags for you!

I was born and (mostly) raised in TN! While I don’t often listen to country music I do have some favorites and won’t object to listening to it. It’s what’s I was raised on! I’m not as country as some but I won’t deny my roots!

Aaah I love them :heart_eyes: that’s where i found my love for it was from my dad  i made a cd of his favorite “truckin” songs, including “Foggy Mountain Breakdown”, “Pancho & Lefty” and “The Highwayman”. He took me out to the Jeep and we turned that thing up as loud as it would go to “test it out.” A lot of songs he played really stuck with me

Same! I used to not like country as much but I really started loving it because of my dad! Especially more of the “old country”.

Thanks a lot!!

Hey we’re close, I’m from Kentucky, but pretty far from Bill Monroe’s birthplace in Rosine. That is great, and that’s why I started embracing it. My late papaw loved Johnny Horton and Marty Robbins, and his sister (my great aunt) would sing Marty’s songs while brushing my mom’s hair when she was younger. Also, the songs my dad shares with me sometimes, they all just came together for me, and I feel like i found my true self. I guess I didn’t start embracing my own roots until a little while ago

Omg I would love to travel to Texas  absolutely like me; i used to hate it, but now, I’ve got good memories tied to it now:heart: oh man, if I hear Hank, Bill Monroe, or Johnny Cash, I feel like me, u know? I’ve really been liking Willie Nelson, The Hag and Waylon lately. Especially “Blue Eyes Crying In The Rain”…oh my gracious, I heard it for the first time a few weeks ago and I can’t stop listening to it  i think since I’ve got blue eyes too, it kinda resonates with me on a deeper level. Plus, the “singing near the campfire” feeling I get from it is really relaxing.

Lol :joy: I’m fine with it for the most part, it’s just one of those things that I don’t hate hearing but I won’t go out of my way to search and listen to it :grin:

She does such great charity work, too!

Amen!!! I remember when I first heard “Folsom Prison Blues” and that was IT. I had to have more  Yep, I grew up on Bill Monroe, so I just automatically gravitated to his music after I dipped my toes into country. I raise a garden with my family, and I’d love to have chickens and goats one day :heartpulse: I agree! She’s a wonderful person; reminds me of Ernest Tubb a lot when it comes to charity. He would take pictures and sign autographs for hours after shows! She really cares, and that’s what makes any famous person stand out to me.

Hey, it’s good 2 meet another southerner!! I used to like older hip-hop, and i still do sometimes, but I really like jazz and soul, too. I listen to Duke Ellington a lot, as well as Smokey Robinson and Sam Cooke (older stuff of course :yum:). But man, I still like Run DMC sometimes. That’s kinda what I started listening to when it comes to hip-hop

My mom and i LOVE soul music, especially from the 50s-90s. She’s as country as cornbread, but she melts when she hears Otis Redding  can u blame her tho? I like pretty much anything that they would play on Soul Train :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: u have any that u recommend? I need to expand my musical boundaries

We are from the great southern state of South Dakota. hahaha
(If you don’t know the US States, that’s not really southern).
But we prefer the old country also. That is the most fun for karaoke.
