It would be fun to see AI’s capabilities at making a crochet pattern, but I don’t think you should use it for a pattern. Maybe just a personal project you can post a picture of when you’re all finished?

Just as a side note. I have read that people who purchase an AI pattern couldn’t complete it because the directions weren’t complete.

true, i once tried making an ai pattern of a simple pouch, just to see what it would look like, and it was a disaster

I personally wouldn’t bother. I’ve watched so many YT videos in which an experienced crocheter/pattern maker tries using AI to create a crochet pattern. When they work up the AI created pattern it’s so very basic and looks absolutely nothing like the picture.

I only voted because I find it funny to see serious crocheters attempting AI “Patterns” just to see how terribly they come out for fun or how off the suggestion feed to the bot was like getting granny squares when asking for plushie patterns it cracks me up 
.
But yeah don’t make it a pattern to sell or even free on here since it’s AI but I have a feeling we could all probably have a good chill laugh with the results if you share an end pic unless ai got WAYYYYYY better recently on pattern making, it’s decent on images but so far I’ve heard mostly fun laughs from creators using it to see if it comes remotely close to the prompt

I’ve seen someone prompt AI to make a giraffe pattern and it came out SUUUPER wonky and not at all giraffe like
