Bag help

I am making another granny square bag because I was bored and didn’t know what to make so here I am, so should I make it like this

I just feel like that’s not much space for carrying stuff
Or I could do this and just only half sew the top square

But then that feels kinda useless that I made all 4 instead of making just one big one and folding in the corners sooooo yeah that’s my problem

Not sure if this helps but if you can make additional squares, here’s some ways to make other shapes of bags that would maybe provide more space if that’s your big concern. But otherwise I think the 4 with the flap is adorable and I like the color changes so I don’t think it would be bad that you didn’t just do one big one
