Hmm I think they mostly have crocheted straps? But if you have one of those bags with the removable strap you can crochet a loop and attach the strap to the loop.

Maybe you can use ribbon or something like that or a Tunisian stitch, which is sturdy and good for bags! (I also added this to the crochet category! :3)

Oh yeah! Uhh for me I feel like ribbon wouldn’t be strong enough but if it’s small it may work!

Yeah I just mean if it’s like something small, It DEFINITELY would not hold up a full-sized backpack

It’s just like a little book bag that can still fit like a phone, keys, etc… not much tho

Maybe try macrame? It’s usually pretty sturdy with big enough thread!
