Beaded Crochet?

Ive seen some interesting crochet pieces made with beads ON the string, then crocheted with. I want to try it but i wanna know its difficulty before i buy all the materials, So has anyone tried crocheting with beads on your yarn? Do you have any tips? Thanks lol

I did that with jingle bells once. It was a bit of a pain since the bells didn’t slide down the yarn easily but the Santa hat I was using them for came out great!

Several years ago I crocheted with beads on wire, necklaces and bracelets. A bit hard on the hands and wrists and make sure your hook is strong enough to take the force of the wire

There are several tutorials on YouTube for how to make beaded fidget keychains. I’ve used that technique to make more patterns besides the standard rectangle.

here are a couple tutorials that show you how to do that.

Here are the patterns I designed using this technique!

They’re not free but you could use the method described in those tutorials to make your own designs if you have some experience designing patterns.
