I know how to knit the basic
But I only know how to make a square and stuff has anyone got any tips so I can make a sock

If you are able I suggest you use YouTube and look up how to cast on, how to knit, how to purl etc. knitting is very visual and difficult to explain verbally

A sock is complex and there are many different ways to knit them
From the toes up
From the cuffs down to the toes
Two at a time (= TAAT) on one long circular needle
On double pointed needles (= DPNs)
On 2 separate circular needles
Etc

I’m not sure if I’m allowed to suggest this but have a look for the winwick mum sockalong blog .. Christine has an amazing beginner tutorial covering all needle types
She literally holds your hand making them x
