Bernat blanket

Has anyone else noticed the absolute inconsistency with bernat blanket? Don’t get me wrong I do like the yarn…However sometimes it’s so stiff and rough I’d rather crochet with sandpaper! And other times it’s so plush and soft!

It’s soo annoying as locally I can’t get a lot of shades, where at least if I buy it in a store I can feel it…If I order online I have to deal with this absolute absurdity

Where is the consistency-
Maybe someone else relates :smiling_face_with_tear:

Yeah, I hate ordering yarn because I like to touch it. I’m a very tactile person.

Same!! I ONLY trust premier for online ordering, parfait will always be luscious and soft…never a rough skein

Have you noticed it with particular colors? With synthetic fibers, some colors or processes can result in a stiffer yarn until it’s been washed.

I wouldn’t know, as I haven’t bought a ton of colors from them, but it seems to be with all of it…I believe its the difference between bernat blanket and bernat baby blanket, and them likely mislabeling which is which…Its 100% with the white!!

I use mostly Bernat blanket yarn for my stuffies and I have noticed that. It does seem to be related to the color, at least in my experience. Especially the brights line!

Next time look at where it is made. Generally speaking yarn made in Turkey is of higher quality than yarn made elsewhere.

I’ve used a lot of the colors, and I’ve never experienced this…

I love it, but it’s definitely annoying when you get a bad batch…!

Oh! I have the label so I’ll check that out!

Oh yea, I got one that was so bad I just added it to the scrap yarn instead of using it for a project. :worried:
