Bernat pipsqeak?

Has anyone used the bernat pipsqeak yarn? I was at Joanns today with a friend, and she reccomend that I made a cat out of since I like the bernat baby velvet yarn. I got it in a light grey and white. I love fluffy animals, and I havent tried bernat pipsqeak before. I feel like it would be nice to work with. Does anyone that has tried or used the yarn give me some tips, and possibly send a picture of what the final result was?

I used to to make a blanket for my dog. It’s princess approved :joy: and it’s held up really well.

Oooo yes! I was waiting to reply to someone about this haha! I loveeee the bernat pipsqueak yarn, I have used it multiple times. If you have ever used fluffy faux fur yarn, it is most definitely not as hard as that, but sometimes it can still be difficult to find your stitches. I have made a fluffy bunny with it, and I currently am actually preparing to upload my own pattern on here for it. Attached is a photo in both gray and white yarn :upside_down_face:

Ooo! Is it fluffier flipped on the right side or the wrong side? I have some pattern testing to finish before I start

Hmmm I’ve only ever done it on the right side, but it almost does seem fluffier on the wrong side lol, makes it nice because your stitches don’t look all weird when you flip them, it just looks more fluffy, idk if its softer or not haha! And btw, I’m gonna get to work on uploading that pattern on here, all of my patterns that I make are completely free, so you wouldn’t have to worry about a cost, but I specifically designed that bunny pattern to be made with fluffy yarn/bernat pipsqueak yarn!

I’ll have to check which side I like better when I use it! Thanks for the help! Have a nice rest of your day!

it’s definitely not bernat pipsqueak yarn but pretty similar to hobby lobby’s brand! i had got some rolls of discontinued pink and green yarn,

i made this bunny using @rascanintara’s chunky bunny pattern!

i was a silly goose and doubled the yarn & she’s the size of a toddler lol i also had ran out* of green yarn, so she is armless lol

i absolutely adore fluffy yarn :heart_hands:! i don’t have access to bernat pipsqueak but there is a similar yarn that i use

i have a few more things in my makes that i’ve made with it. i use a 3mm hook but you could probably go up a size

i have a few tips about using it as there is a learning curve. try not to make things that have a high stitch count (48+) i have two stitch markers in- one for the start of the round, and the second for the halfway point. you will need to count every stitch, so absolutely no distractions around you. if you come short of a stitch in a round, make up for it in the next round with a increase/decrease.

ofc it’s the same with chenille yarn, use a fingering/acrylic yarn to sew on limbs/details so you’re not wasting the fluffy yarn.

honestly the pain and suffering is worth it, i love this yarn so much :sob: i’d much rather this to the dolphin yarn but that’s just me :heart_hands:
