Best yarn for a cardigan/wearables?

hey! I wanted to crochet a wearable (a cardigan) but I’m so confused on what yarn to use! I know a lot of people use acrylic, but I’ve heard it’s not fun to wear in the warm summer days and it’s not breathable. I’ve also head that cotton is very heavy, but also that wool isn’t so suitable for warm days aswell.
Let me know what yarn types/brands you reccomend (from Europe preferably)!

I’m in the US so idk what they sell in Europe, but I use either red heart super saver or I love this yarn

Honestly I’d just stick with acrylic, I’ve made about 4 sweaters and they’re honestly fine as long as you like the texture of the yarn.

More importantly, for the summer try and keep it mesh or at least something that has holes because you really need the breatheability

Alternatively you could use recycled tshirt yarn, but I’m not too keen on the texture. Although it is a really good way to repurpose old shirts.

I would avoid acrylic or other synthetic yarns, since they will shed microplastics every time you wash the cardigan. I like to use cotton, but pure merino wool is actually good for warm days as well as cold because it has wicking properties that help to keep you cool:

Bamboo yarn would also work really well for a wearable (it does have a tendency to stiffen after washing, but it will soften up again once it dries). Basically anything made from 100% natural fibres is a good choice because they’re breathable and better for the environment.

I loved my cotton sweater the best. It was so nice. I actually sold it to a bartender in a restaurant we were eating at. It was mesh like so I did have a shirt under it … Fun day!

I use Järbo Soft Cotton almost exclusively, I buy it from a local yarn store but it’s available online too from a bunch of different online shops.

Hobbii has pretty okay cotton yarn. They almost always have some kind of sale so they’re pretty cheap, and they have discounts on “big”/bulk orders. (Big or bulk is in this case like 10 skeins and up)

I also like to use recycled cotton yarn, but theres often a problem with the yarn separating and fraying with the brands I’ve tried so far, so I haven’t found the perfect recycled cotton yarn yet.

If you want it to be lighter you could try a mix of cotton with bamboo or linen/flax, there’s even some yarn being made with hemp.

For cardigan I usually use acrylic from action, it’s not too thick. Cotton and bamboo could also work, it all depends on a stitch

No, sorry.
Just to clarify, the yarn is called “Järbo Soft Cotton”, here’s a few patterns using it, just so you can see some pictures of how it looks: Mönster från Järbo - Tusentals beskrivningar för stickning och virkning
