When someone says they need to block a square or granny square, what does that mean?

This just means to stretch out the project (like a granny square or clothing in general) to get the desired shape. When you crochet several granny squares, they will most likely be uneven and won’t line up with the other squares. Blocking helps with this!

It involves dampening the piece then pinning or pulling it to the shape / size you need, and leaving it to dry.

You either get it wet or leave it dry (depends on material) and then stretch it and pin it onto a board! It helps them be more square or change the size a bit
