Mysterious Benedictâs society. I read it a little while ago and it was super good
Hunger games and the keeper of the lost cities series, theyâre soooo good!
The Swifts!
hellooo idk if u can read books that are fantasy but Keeper of the lost cities is rlly good
Seconding the Agatha Christie suggestion, and if you like her, Ngaio Marsh (another of the Queens of Crime) was also wonderful.
Mystery - have you read The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin? I read it the first time for a class in 7th grade, itâs amazing and still one of my favorites, even as an adult!
I donât know if I could name any safe horror, aside of maybe Goosebumps? I read them as a kid and thought they were great. Ohh maybe Roald Dahl? His books are fairly creepy and suspenseful. Oh oh! Have you read the Bunnicula books by James Howe? I donât recall what age itâs specifically targeted at, it might be slightly young for you but it might not be. I do recall that it was a favorite series though.
Not sure if theyâre your taste, but Madeleine LâEngleâs books (the Wrinkle in Time series especially) were another beloved series, plus they even have religious themes (not my thing, but didnât detract from them for me) so your parents should def be happy with them lol.
Ok so this is a fiction but I LOVE the book The Outsiders. Idk if it would be your thing but it is basically two teenage rival gangs in Tulsa Oklahoma in the 60s, and it is really deeply about peopleâs humanity, the human desire to be understood and loved, sort of chosen family in a way⌠idk thereâs a lot but itâs super good. Oh and it is also about keeping your love and childlike wonder of the world.
I honestly have NO IDEA if this would be up your alley as it was not mentioned in your favorite types of books, but itâs definitely the kind of book I would never read but then I read it for school and now it is one of my favorite books so IDK.
Ok but LARGE WARNING there is gang violence, some deaths, and some drinking, but none of it is really glorified I would say?
It may or may not break you emotionally though.
Also it was written by a teenager which I think is super cool and it is so good as well.
So I would definitely ask your parents because thereâs definitely a chance you wouldnât be allowed to read it but I donât know lol, I go to a smaller Christian school and we read it for the curriculum.
Also if you like theatre thereâs a really good musical adaptation
But I know this one might be kind of unlikely so Iâll try to think of more recommendations
There are just a few curse words but only like the D word I think if Iâm remembering correctly, and there is no spice at all
iâm adding this to my tbr XD not my usual genre, but it sounds awesome :D
Ok cool! honestly I didnât think I would like it and then I really did so I just depends:)
kk!! iâll keep that in mind :D
The Hunger Games and Powerless (my favorite book since j read them)
Powerless does have some language, but I really liked it!
Maybe A good girls guide to murder? It isnât so aggressive because it is about a case that closed 5 years ago, yet the mystery and plot twist are amazingggg!
