For mystery mixed with herbs, a monk, and England/Wales history set in the 1100s you must read the Brother Cadfael mysteries by Ellis Peters. I read them over and over, sometimes I forget, and dang-the one I thought killed they/them wasn’t the one!

The scythe series!!! It’s so good and it’s a trilogy with an additional book that just dives into other stories

The cassandra Clare series starting with the infernal devices (clockwork angel, clockwork prince and clockwork princess) To this day these three books wreck me everytime i read them. Also i would recommend Norse Mythology by neil gaimen if you don’t feel like reading a full book in one sitting and just want to read some short stories.
