Calling all aussies! šŸ—£ļø

Hiiii everyone! :D
~ firstly, sorry this post is a bit crazy :sob: ~

I have a question for my fellow Aussie crocheters:

Where do you buy blanket yarn?

I want to crochet a jellycat bunny for my friend for her birthday, and I think that blanket yarn would probably be the best! (But if you have any other suggestions, please let me know! I want it to turn out a good size tho :)

I normally get it from my local cheap store, but

  1. They’re out of white yarn in the only brand of blanket yarn there, and
  2. the same brand doesn’t have any good light pinks!

My friend was deciding between a white or a pink one, and I think she ended up going with pink, but the only light pink there was like, neon! (I was just going to make a white one if I couldn’t find a nice pink, but they don’t even have that atm sooo… yeah that’s why I’m here :sob:)

Sorry for all the yap, but any help is greatly appreciated!

Tysm! <33

Oh and this is the pattern I plan on using if you were curious! XD

Yes that’s the one I normally get too! Where do you get yours from?

Omg literally tho it’s so annoying :sob:

And yeah I should look in spotlight, I didn’t get time to today! The only downside is it’s really expensive :sob:
I just looked at the Moda Vera yarn you linked, and I was like ā€˜oh my gosh it’s PERFECT!’ And then… I looked at the price :sob: $18?!? Like DANG! I might have to get that tho if it comes to it, because it does have a really nice pink!

Also I need to have a look in cheap as chips as well, because I also didn’t get to today!

And nooo dw this was actually really helpful tysm! <33

Spotlight yarn for sure!!! I use the brand ā€œBella babyā€ baby blanket yarn, but there’s also Yarra and I think a heap of others, you can get really big balls for like 18 but they do sales a lot! I recommend signing up to spotlight as a member so ya know about their sales!!! Overall it’s not bad quality, I recommend going in store rather than online cos they always have more in store in my experience, hope this helps!!!

I def always use spotlight and cheap shops!!
For spotlight, in queensland, there are things called mill ends,
so i get them for reallllyyyy cheap, like around 5 balls of yarn (depending on what type) for around 12 bucks!!

Edit: They are like in bags that are discontinued or smt

I sometimes get my yarn online, but that’s CRAZY expensive. If it’s not at your local cheap shop, try the mill ends at Spotlight. My sister got 4 massive balls of dark grey blanket yarn for only like, 5 bucks.

Yeah Amazon is in Aussie. Walmart isn’t, so when I went to Canada and brought back a Walmart bag to show people at school, they were all like ā€œWoah! A Walmart bag! Where’d ya get that?ā€ The answer, of course, was always ā€œWalmart. Duhā€
