Can I please curate the "For You" section a bit?

I wish I could press a button that would hide specific patterns that I choose not to add to my library. Maybe a “Not Interested” or “Not for Me” button? The program doesn’t even need to keep a memory of what I’ve hidden if that’s too complicated. I would just like to be able remove patterns from my feed, so I don’t have to keep strolling over them as I look up and down my feed.

I do not make many wearables, and yet whatever alorithm that picks the patterns For You, keeps throwing crochet bras/corsets at me. I don’t know why as I’m not following the designers I’m not interested in, but the same patterns keep showing up on the feed. The patterns are beautiful, and the models are too, but I’d rather not see so much skin while browsing. It happens so often that I rarely even look at the “For You” section as I can’t remove the patterns I’m not interested in. I do not have the NSFW content on. I don’t want to flag the pattern or call out the specific patterns I’m referring to, as there is nothing actually wrong with them, just that they are very much not for me.

(It’s sometimes hard to tell over text, but I am so trying to be respectful to all, so I would hope others would respond accordingly.)

I’ve seen this idea before, and I definitely agree!

I agree! There should definitely be a “not interested” button. Just incase you don’t want to see specific content!

There’s been quite a bit of asking for this, and I agree. Ribblr have said they have an AI that the patterns you ignore, they take away from your feed, but I really wish there was a way to manually remove it.

Maybe ask @Ribblr what they think but I agree :+1:t2:

Thanks for sharing. Our For You section is rather new, and we’re working on improving it. We’ll use your feedback

I literally just made a thread about this not that long ago. People are interested, it’s just up to @Ribblr

They told me they’d bring it up to the team.

They said the way it works is that patterns you scroll past don’t show up for a couple days, but then they get looped back in.

I mentioned to them that the same patterns show on repeat, despite being skipped past every time. They did work on it and it did change a little, but not enough.

I bet they could figure out how to make an algorithm that would well act like any other social media algorithm, showing more things similar to other things we like.

And I don’t think you’re being offensive for sharing your personal preferences as an example. You’re not using your preferences to judge people or to police the behavior of others. I like the stuff you’re saying you don’t wanna see, and I’m not offended. We just have different preferences, nbd.

i for sure agree! i also wish there were a toggle button where i could switch back and forth between things on my wishlist and new things.

I once had my For You section be nothing but Knitting patterns. I don’t knit, I’ve never saved a knitting pattern, but EVERY single pattern suggested was a knitting pattern. More toggles wpuld definitely be nice.
