I see some things for the same model without the R. That might just mean renewed. Maybe you could do a search for that.

Depends on your price point! I have that same sewing machine. Brother does not make an official extension table for this model, but Sew Steady offers custom sized extension tables that can fit this model. If you prefer DIY and are brave, there are a few tutorials for how to make one from wooden cutting boards (the type you chop veggies/etc on). I myself simply made do with books stacked around until it β€œfelt right” when sewing :laughing: I did recently purchase an upgraded computer model Brother with its own extension table, but I sewed & quilted with this basic Brother you linked and my books for a good 13 years.

I was able to make an inexpensive zero clearance surface for my drop down sewing machine table by using packing foam, cardboard and duct tape. Traced around the end onto cardboard/paper and used some packing foam to build up to the right height and once it fit close, duct taped together to hold it.
I’m thinking you could do roughly the same to make an extender. if you get a lot of packages it would be an inexpensive thing to try. Good luck!
