it only happened in a couple of GCs… i think it was the vent gc and MAYBE the chaos gc but idk. and it’s to get around a thing in chats, so less commonly used :P

backslash makes it so you can type things like this: *sigh* without it italicizing and becoming sigh

and quote is when ppl do things like this:

and you can quote multiple people, so you can reply to many ppl at once, many pattern designers do this in tester calls:
