Editor/Pattern Tester Wanted!
Hey there, friends!
UPDATE HERE: I have decided to have more than 1 editor in case one is unable to help out so that another one can I will make the decision either later on today or tomorrow thank you everyone for responding and reaching out I wasn’t expecting to get so many people
I’m looking for an awesome editor to work closely with me on my crochet patterns. I’m not just needing someone to check my grammar or tweak a sentence here or there — I’m looking for someone who is hands-on and detail-obsessed (in the best way!).
Here’s what I’m looking for:
- Grammar & Formatting: Catch grammar mistakes, typos, weird phrasing, confusing instructions, etc.
- Pattern Accuracy: Read through every stitch and make sure it makes sense before you even pick up your hook or needles.
- Pattern Testing: Actually make the pattern — crochet it as you go through editing! (Materials and timelines will always be discussed ahead of time so no surprises.)
- Live Editing: While you’re making it, note any issues, confusing parts, or spots that need improvement, and update the pattern document as needed.
- Photography: Snap a few clear pictures of the finished item (in natural light if possible!) to show the finished project and anything you noticed along the way.
- Feedback: Be honest but kind! I really want someone who will say “Hey, this part was confusing” instead of pretending it was fine.
Compensation:
Instead of traditional payment, you’ll be gifted free access to all of my published patterns as you complete each one.
PLUS you’ll get early access to my never-before-posted, unreleased patterns — basically, you’ll be part of my inner creative circle!
Bonus Perk: I’m also offering exclusive custom pattern requests just for my editor — if there’s something special you’d love to see turned into a pattern, I’ll make it happen for you!
Must be:
- Comfortable crocheting at beginner skill level or higher.
- Detail-oriented but still positive and easy to work with!
- Able to take good-quality photos with a phone or camera (nothing fancy, just clear and bright).
- Communicative — let me know if you spot something weird or need clarification.
- Excited about cute, cozy, creative projects (because that’s the whole vibe here!)
If this sounds like your jam, please message me with:
- A little about you and your experience
- A few photos of finished crochet/knit projects you’ve made
- Your editing or testing experience (if any — not required but a big plus!)
- Your general availability (how many projects a month you could take on)
Thanks so much! I can’t wait to find someone who’s just as passionate about perfecting patterns as I am. Let’s make some magic happen together!
