Hi knitters!
We’re bringing back the testing for this top, as seen in Lir’s recent glow-up announcement!
We received lots of questions about the pattern - it was tested a while back but the team was not sure they had enough feedback and wanted to redo the testing.
This is a knitting pattern for a wrap top with detachable sleeves. It can be made as a short sleeve top or with the added bell sleeves.
The recommended yarn for this is a plant fibre + polyester blend (We used a 50/50 polyester and cotton blend) so the yarn has a bit of stretch to it.
It’s a DK/Light worsted size yarn.
It’s available in 6 sizes (XS/S to 2XL/3XL) Tip: As for choosing the size you want to make, try to go for a smaller size as this garment ends up stretchy.
Due Date: 25th of May 2025 Testers will be chosen by: 18th of April 2025 Additional Requirements:
Please let us know in the comments if you applied and what size are you going to make!
I would love to test but I’m an advanced beginner/intermediate knitter; do you think the pattern is simple enough for me to understand or would it be too complicated? I’d like to say I’m a pretty quick learner. I would most likely make a size S/M if I end up testing! Also do you have an estimate of how much yarn was used?
I think it definitely ok to do if you can knit and purl, as the main pattern is just alternating knit and purl stitches. If you need help with simplification for some parts that would also be a good feedback for us, so feel free to apply!
At the moment we don’t have the crochet version, but I think that will be an excellent edition to our designs! Will definitely try to recreate this into a crochet format!
The idea of detachable sleeves is so cool and perfect for spring. I’d really love getting back into knitting garments with this beautiful project.
Are you only interested in testers knitting with the recommended 50/50 blend or would it be okay with 100% cotton too? I would make it in a size M or maybe S depending on how large the sizes will end up (which is also depending on the yarn choice eventually)
