I need testers for my Basilisk - Crochet ePattern Click pattern photo to apply:
[OPEN]
Hi! I’m looking for around 5 testers to help me test my new basilisk pattern! Inspired by the mythological creature, this plushie combines the features of a rooster, snake and well, fluffiness!
It is not incredibly difficult, but some crochet background is required - the pattern features quite a bit of colour changes and some sewing.
If you’d like to apply: Be able to finish the plushie by the 27th of January, take photos and feel comfortable with me sharing them! If you have an Instagram account - great! Let me know, as I would love to tag you when publishing the pattern!
You can use any yarn type and colours you’ll like! I used plush yarn, which is why it is recommended in the pattern, but I’ll happily see more variety of sizes and textures!
The call will be open until Saturday, the 13th of January, 4 PM CET! The testers will be chosen subsequently.
I was going to ask if your myth monster was supposed to be a cockatrice (A chicken and snake hybrid that has a petrifying gaze) but I’m seeing a lot of the same imagery for basilisk (which is supposed to be a tiny snake, according to wikipedia’s own writeup) so I’m less sure there’s a seperation in the two now. XD
I’m confused. But this looks super cute! Would love to see the plush from another angle, if you have time to take another picture.
Well, the Polish version of the legend of Basilisk states that it comes out of an egg that was laid by a rooster and then incubated by a toad and from what I’m seeing in Anglophone media it is often synonymous with Cockatrice this particular one was inspired by an illustration in a children’s book about the legend, which is why I stuck to the anglicised version of the Polish name, thus Basilisk
