Hello, ribblers! I’m looking for 7 testers to try out my new crochet pattern: a foldable UFO drawstring bag with a mesh bag body that can be stored inside the UFO lid and base.
It folds flat into the UFO body, making it both functional and fun!

  • Difficulty: Intermediate — includes grid joining, and accessory assembly.
  • This pattern involves multiple sewing steps (attaching mesh, zipper, snaps, and details). Please apply only if you’re comfortable with hand sewing and can give detailed feedback.

:yarn: Yarn used

Cotton yarn or cotton/acrylic blend yarn, cord diameter approx. 1.5 – 2 mm.
It is recommended to use a firm, sturdy yarn that holds its shape well for making bags.
Softer yarns with a fluffy or pliable texture (such as those commonly used for amigurumi) are not suitable.

  • Hook: 3.0 mm

  • Plastic canvas circles: Ø 7.5 cm × 2 pcs, Ø 14.8 cm × 1 pc (can be trimmed to fit; larger sizes also work)
  • 7 mm sew-on snaps × 2 pairs
  • 1 mm wire, approx. 50 cm
  • 20" molded plastic closed-end zipper (approx. 51 cm)
  • Optional: 6 mm round beads × 2, 9 mm tube beads × 2, nylon thread for attaching beads

  • UFO diameter: approx. 19 cm
  • Bag base diameter: approx. 15 cm
  • Bag body length (excluding strap): approx. 31 cm

  • Share at least one finished photo in Ribblr “Reviews and Makes”.
  • Posting on Instagram (and tagging me) is very appreciated — testers who plan to post on Instagram will be prioritized.

  • Testers will be selected within 1 day.
  • Testing deadline: September 15 (flexible if material preparation takes longer — please let me know).

  • Testers who complete feedback and share photos will receive the final PDF pattern for free.

I would love to test as this looks so cute, but do not think I could meet the deadline, as I have a couple of testings I am currently doing. I would love to be tagged on pattern release - thank you - If you do not get enough testers and I could have an additional week until about September 22nd I would love to test.

I would love to make this!
I do have Instagram but honestly cannot figure out how to post and tag in it, but I am willing to figure it out. I am going to the craft store today, so I could pick up any needed items and start immediately. I do have expirence making bags that tuck into another part, and many advanced patterns.

I can test! Unfortunately, can’t post on insta. I will 3d print the hardware I can! Buy if I can’t. I’ve never made a bag before, would be cool to make!
