Color change problems

How do you guys prevent this from happening when you are color changing?

For me to prevent it from getting loose, I usually tie it twice in the backk

I’ve never had it happen to me and I don’t know if it’s because of how I color change or what. I do the crochet stitch up until the last two loops on my hook and then pull the new color through it to finish the stitch. I also don’t join my rounds as that causes stitch shifts in the fabric sometimes. Working in spirals is more foolproof. I can upload pictures tomorrow to show what I mean by color change if you like. (It’s late where I’m at currently :upside_down_face:)

Also as you go tug on the tails of yarn to keep it tight before fastening off. That should help prevent the bumps too. You can also try what @nuggiemaster said and try tying it off in the back to keep it tight if you need to.
