Hi Ribblrs!
Our community has grown exponentially this year so we wanted to take a moment to remind everyone of our community guidelines and what is and isn’t allowed on Ribblr.
1. Topics Allowed
Ribblr is a craft platform, so public community spaces should primarily be used for craft-related discussions. Off-topic conversations may be allowed in Personal spaces , such as birthday celebrations or get-to-know-you posts. For casual chats, polls, or random questions, please use the chat instead.
If you’re unsure whether your post should be a public topic, ask yourself: “Can this lead to a meaningful discussion?”
Self-promotion is allowed once a week per person and must relate to your Ribblr shop, makes, or patterns. External links are not allowed. Keep all updates (new patterns, giveaways, results, etc.) within a single topic, and tag them with self-promo.
Self-promo posts should add value and encourage meaningful conversations. For example, asking for more followers isn’t considered constructive.
You’re in control! If there are tags or spaces you’d rather not see in your feed, you can mute them. Just head to your profile, go to preferences, and then select tracking to manage what you follow.
2. Community Chat
We now have a new chat channel called ‘craft talk’, dedicated solely to craft-related conversations. Our general chat channel can be used for everyday, casual conversations—anything from your favorite songs to movie recommendations.
The chats are exclusively for Ribblr members. As this is not a general messaging app, so please keep conversations relevant to our community and note that members who are not actively engaged in crafting activities may be automatically flagged.
None of our chat channels should be used for arguments or forming cliques.
If the fast pace of the chat feels overwhelming, you can easily turn it off in your profile preferences. Go to the chat tab, untick ‘enable chat,’ and save your changes.
3. We’re counting on you
Let’s work together to keep Ribblr positive and organized. Before posting, check for existing topics, and make sure your posts have clear titles, correct spaces, and relevant tags.
@regulars, we especially appreciate your help with editing topic titles, organizing posts, and adding tags.
Quoting our guidelines:
You are welcome to share and discuss with other Ribblrs, but we kindly ask you to maintain a positive discussion. There are plenty of places to argue and fight. This is not one of them.
If you spot inappropriate behavior, please don’t engage. Instead, flag it or contact us directly. We review flags quickly, usually within an hour, and almost always within 12 hours.
Engaging with inappropriate content or behavior may lead to actions against your account, as it’s a violation of our guidelines.
4. Moderation
While Ribblr has many users, our team is still small, and we’re supported by amazing @leaders who help guide the community. As fellow crafters, our role is to enforce the guidelines.
We use automated systems to help manage the community, so your post may be automatically flagged or your account temporarily silenced while we review and investigate. If no issues are found, your account and posts will be fully restored.
Sometimes, our moderators or leaders may need to merge or remove posts. While this might be frustrating, we ask that you remain respectful. We’ll always try to reach out and explain what went wrong.
Please note that multiple accounts are not allowed. If suspended or silenced users create secondary accounts, they will be automatically removed and blocked from the platform without warning.
Lastly, we’d like to remind you that repeated violations or abusive behavior will not be tolerated. Actions such as warnings, silencing, or suspensions are only taken when necessary to protect the community, and we appreciate your cooperation in keeping Ribblr a fun and safe space for everyone.
We’ve got this!
Our community belongs to all of us, and that’s what makes it special. Over the past four years, we’ve seen how our community bridges differences, forms friendships, and spreads positivity. Let’s keep that spirit going!
