Compulsory Image Attached to Pattern Tester Call Out

Hi Ribblr,

As someone who loves pattern testing, the photos that are uploaded to Pattern Test Call Outs are incredibly helpful when deciding whether or not to volunteer to test a pattern.

In the short time I’ve been pattern testing and actively seeking out patterns to test, I’ve noticed that about 25% of designers don’t provide images of the completed item (or a graph/chart) with their Pattern Test Call Out. In these instances, pattern testers have to reply to the call out with requests for images of the final product or grids, or due dates etc.

I was wondering if there was a way to ensure that before a Pattern Test Call Out could be ‘published’ to the Testing Zone, it contained some basic requirements such as: an image of the completed pattern being tested or, in the case of a tapestry, at the very least an image of the grid, as well as a due date, or alternatively wording to the effect of ‘due 2 weeks after testers have been selected’.

This basic information is crucial when submitting a pattern test as it helps testers determine:

  • whether they like the pattern enough that they’re prepared to volunteer their time and materials to test it.
  • how big (or small) the project is.
  • if they have the skills and knowledge required to complete the project. And…
  • if they have the time available to complete the pattern test by the due date.

I realise those who forget to add an image and due date are most likely new to Ribblr (but not always) so I feel it would be helpful if we gave them a little assistance by prompting them to add this information at the beginning of their journey here on Ribblr.

Thank you to those designers who already include this information in their call outs.

Thanks Ribblr

Yesss!!! I love this idea! I’m often guilty of forgetting to add the due date or certain requirements. This will help so much!
