Crochet is so much more than being a grandma who makes blankets.

Loom Knitting isnt just for beginners; its easier for some of us with disabilities or arthritis and you’re not limited to simple hats and scarves- bedspreads, socks, cardigans, vests… most any knitting patterns & garment/project instructions can be converted to loom knitting.

“Crochet isn’t art!”
WRONG! Crochet is considered an art form rather than just a craft because it is used many times as style, fashion, and decoration!

Crocheting and knitting aren’t the same thing

the amount of times someone asks if I’m knitting is insane :sob:

Chenille yarn is NOT for the weak. It always sheds, especially the ends, which is why some of your projects look bald… The final boss however, is when it gets stuck in a magic circle…

crochet is 1 hook, knitting is 2 needles, not everything is knitting

Crocheting and knitting aren’t gendered, so we should act like they are :expressionless_face:

There was a belief that you couldn’t crochet clothing, but that is fading away lately with all the AMAZING designs that have been popping up! (And the celebs wearing them!)

There is no real ‘cheap mass produced’ or machine-made crochet. I’m sure everybody here knows this but in general there is a lack of awareness (or interest?) and the low priced crochet products in especially but not only fast fashion come from severely underpaid workers who do every single stitch by hand under a lot of pressure. It’s being handled as if it was cheap but the makers are paying the cost for that

YES I really don’t like when people say its “a grandma craft“

(no offense to all the grandmas)

People say that’s too expensive and nobody will buy it but that’s what it’s worth, you can’t be underpricing yourself
