I am developing a new vest pattern but it involves buttons. What is the easiest way to add buttons to your work for someone who is a beginner? I have a faint idea, but I am a little stuck on assembly.

Well, just sew them on wherever you want them.
BUT, if you need buttonholes that has to be figured into the pattern.
I usually pick out button before crocheting, then where I want to put the button I’ll chain whatever number of chains that will accommodate the button but still slides in out without it being too tight that you’re fighting with the button.
