Crochet blanket tips?

Hey everyone it’s me ERI again! I want to ask advice on creating a Crochet bouquet blanket!

Basic facts :backhand_index_pointing_down:

Inspo - Lilly of the valley blanket

Summary

Yarn + hook

This is the yarn that I’m using. (Red heart, oatmeal colour) I’m using a 5.5mm hook.

Progress - progress so far - 11 rows. (Updated image not shown)

I don’t know how many rows I should do to get the size Shown in the picture. I also don’t know what type of flowers I should make - I want them to look nice (Lilliys) but I want them efficient and not too time consuming (roses).

Any advice is much appreciated :3

I would honestly just keep going until it looks right. I think the yarn you are using is a bit thicker, so just keep going until it seems like the size you want. Good luck with it!

Ooh I’m gonna start one of those bouquet blankets soon, I have someone in mind I’m making it for but they unfortunately may not have the health to make it long enough for me to gift them it so I’m sending them a separate gift of Amigurumi birds and flowers before hand that I’m almost done with and hoping I make the blanket fast enough & their health improves, but the birds will make them smile most so that’s my priority, blanket second, I’m not sure I got enough yarn for the blanket though

Honesty, just keep, going until your like “ya, that could cover my legs”. U don’t want it to be too small.

I LOVE those blankets! I’m in the middle of making my 3rd. The first one I made, I used a entire ball of yarn (that I had already used for another project ) and I added roses. This is how big it is:

My second one was like 2-3 times bigger (my dad bought it from me for my mom). And my 3rd right now is a little bigger than my first, but I’m still making it.

I’d say just use the whole ball of yarn and see how big it gets!

Wow that looks so pretty!

I bought ahem ahem six balls of the yarn that I showed above :smiling_face_with_tear:

I didn’t realize how big they were lol

So I think that I’m going to do 40-50 rows!

I’m on row 15 rn

I made one of these with 2 skeins of milk cotton yarn (i believe it was around 200 yards in each skein) and definitely wouldve gona back and done at least two more skeins becuase it turned out as more of table cloth) i cant say how many rounds i did because I didnt keep track but i used a 4.00 mm hook and would definitely say i wish i had gone smaller on the hook and bought more yarn. When in doubt buy extra yarn LOL

I made one with roses for my daughter and it was 37 inches across at the widest point, the border and flowers added about another 2-3 inches. It was done in double crochet but for the life of me I don’t remember how many rounds it took to get that size lol
