Crochet Cat Pattern Recommendations

Hey everyone,

This isn’t a post that I hoped to make anytime soon but unfortunately my family cat passed away last night.

She ran away on Saturday and last night we were so happy to finally find her again. She was a bit dehydrated and we thought she might be okay but we took her to the vet just to be sure.

The news wasn’t good and we ended up losing her only a couple hours after we found her. I am so grateful that we at least got to say goodbye and that she is in a better place now.

So the reason why I’m writing this is because I want to make my family a little keepsake to remember her by. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or patterns to recommend. I would appreciate free patterns only, no-sew or minimum sew and smaller fit in your pocket kind of size. I will be making 5 so a relatively fast and simple pattern would be nice aswell.

My all time favorite cat crochet pattern is the Itty Bitty Kitty by Thoresby Cottage:

It is super simple and only has one thing to sew on which is the tail. I’ve crocheted this kitty before when a friend’s cat also passed away and it came out pretty cute. I used Caron Latte Cakes which gives a cat-like hair texture. I doubled up on it to make it thicker. It was perfect!

Also, if you want to make her even smaller, I’ve used embroidery thread and made keychain size ones too.
