Crochet Designers Q&A

What inspires your designs?
And share what you make!

I’ll go first:
I love being out in nature. I love the plants and animals:smiling_face:
I enjoy a good book and tea is a thing for me every day.

And… pets and fruit are cute.

Ps,

I’ll be ready to post a tester call for the Berry Kitty:point_up_2: later today or tomorrow so keep an eye out for that!

For me anything can inspire my creations! I love space so I’m always up for making something space themed. For my Two-Headed Birds it’s because one of my friends drew one and I was like I’m gonna make it!

my designs are inspired by silly little things, or bad puns my dad tells me to crochet (hence the box turtle and clownfish)

I design amigurumi. Literally anything can inspire my designs, but mostly just my mind wandering. I come up with all sorts of cool ideas that I want to crochet, and then I HAVE to make them. I come up with things like the beeeee pattern this way. Trying to design a garlic bread pattern right now because my brain decided that’s what we’re going to do.

Here are the patterns on my shop right now!

It’s pretty neat getting to sculpt something that started from your imagination:raised_hands:
I love your Narwhals, btw!
All of these are awesome:ok_hand: Thanks for sharing!

Something that I’ve discovered is that I like to crochet gifts. I crocheted this cat as a birthday present for my friend and now I’m working on making it a pattern!

Other things that inspire my patterns are seasonal things (like pumpkins for fall) and movies or shows (Harry Potter and Pokemon are my favorite)!

I’ve hardly kept what I make, myself:sweat_smile:

Yay! This would make a very cute pattern!

Love seasonal things, especially in Autumn:maple_leaf:

I have a degree in evolutionary biology and I specialize in invertebrates so…

I’m also inspired by utility - I like my creations to serve some sort of purpose or to have a unique/hidden feature. The Sea Cucumber/Pearlfish pillow above is a hot/cold pack, the snail’s shell is detachable, the coaster set I’m releasing soon can be filled with coffee beans so that it smells delicious, and the car charm I’m designing is filled with carbon so it works as a natural deodorizer.

I love this!
What cute little invertebrates:face_holding_back_tears:

Yes! Love when there’s a special use for crochet items (especially anything coffee is:ok_hand:).
