Crochet gift ideas for old men in their 50s?

Hi,
I forgot that an older friend’s birthday is coming up next week, so I’m looking for crochet project ideas I can do in a week. The usual ideas I see online, like beanies, gloves, ties, drink cozies, don’t seem like his thing. And I don’t have time for scarves or sweaters that are his thing.

So far, I have bookmarks and cat toys as ideas, but that isn’t all I want to give him. Does anyone else have any other ideas? I’d like it to be practical if possible, but it doesn’t need to be.

P.S. The couch organizer is out as an option, too, because of his cats.

Does he wear eyeglasses, for a tray? Or just any type of simple dresser tray organizer?

This is going to sound weird, but how about a coin pouch?
I’m always seeing vets with these small pouches of coins they keep in front pocket of pants.
I remember when the banks would give away plastic ones.

We bought a bunch when we owned a vacuum shop because we couldn’t find them anymore. We just gave a bunch away at our last rummage sale. Great idea.
