Crochet Purses with faux leather base

Does anyone have any resources for learning g how to crochet t shirt yarn to the faux leather base of a purse?
I’m not necessarily looking for patterns as much as instructions. Like maybe a book, or perhaps a pattern for baby beginners crochet purse?

Hi,
One suggestion I have is to use a yarn genie or self-twirling spindle to hold your yarn. That way it will help keep the yarn from twisting. When crocheting purses you want the T Shirt yarn to stay as flat and wide as possible. Here’s the double spindle I bought for using 2 colors:

I’ve been adding crochet to a blue jean jacket and I would think it would be the same techniques. Not sure though. Maybe if you check youtube videos for those.

Edit: I just did a search for “upcycle a faux leather purse with crochet” and now I wanna do it too.
