Crochet Service project - HELP MEEEEE

Hiii! I needs da helps:pensive_face: I’m doing a service project at school where I’m crocheting plushie versions of the dogs at my local shelter! Then I’m adding tags to the plushies with a picture and description of the animal at the shelter they’re crocheted after :) and then I’m going to a big adoption day the shelter is having and have a table with those plushies. That way if people can’t adopt a pet from the shelter, they can adopt one through plushie, and all the profit from my table goes straight to the organization :>

I didn’t realize how little time I have for it tho:smiling_face_with_tear: the adoption day is in a week, and I’m not going to be able to make enough plushies for it and idk what to do:sob::sob:

I’ve only made 3 plushies so far, and with homework and school and stuff I’m probably only going to be able to make one plushie a day :< the adoption day is also a big one and they’re grilling food and everything so I can’t just have a whole table there for 7 plushies :(

And this project is my whole entire grade for that class

Also I’m not rlly allowed to change my idea too much, unless it’s minor changes

I don’t think I’ll be able to sell at the adoption day but I need other ways to sell and my mom doesn’t rlly want me to sell online

I would sell in my neighborhood but it’s kinda tiny

SO SORRY THATS A LOT TO READ AHHH:sob::sob: I rlly need ideas or help on what to do I’m kinda struggling here:smiling_face_with_tear:

TYSM!! <33

Maybe you could start making smaller dogs with a different pattern. I found a lot of dog beginner-friendly patterns on youtube that only take about 1-2 hrs to make ^-^ could save you a lot of time!

ohhh ok! They seem a decent size!

I’m not sure if this could help, but maybe just try to stay really focused on the project when you’re working on, try not to get sidetracked (if you often do). If you have a little window of time when you can work on them (in the car, or a doctor/dentist offic) that could help you get them done quicker. also, since it’s kind of considered homework, you could crochet before doing your other subjects hehe :face_with_peeking_eye:.

I wish you the absolute best with your puppy adoption program, I can’t wait to hear how it goes (if you share of course)!! :growing_heart::growing_heart:

  • Maybe just set up a table near where the dogs are going to be (front desk/seating area, and if the dogs are outside, set up your table near them where people can see you).

  • include a sheet of paper in a stand talking about what you’re doing (and how all proceeds are going towards the shelter blah blah blah)

  • and of course communicate with the customer!

Maybe you could make mini versions of the puppies so they’re easier to make?

Hmmmm…. Maybe you could make smaller loaf dogs instead if large ones, that way they would be faster to make?

Have you considered doing paw print coasters? Or lil bow ties to fit pets?

Ok lemme think… um use all the free time u have, ( I think combre said smthg like that already) maybe ask your teachers for extensions for homework, because its a school thing and I’m sure they’ll understand… right?

How about having custom orders? like “scan this QR code, fill out a form and your crochet dog will be ready in 1 week! (all proceeds go to charity)”

you could work on them at school, at lunch or break times, even if you only get a bit done at school

I think the idea you had is brilliant! Such a lovely concept.

Could you ask some friends to all make 1 dog each?

Or as someone already suggested, have a ‘made to order’ adoption (limit the number available or you could be crocheting dogs forever more!)

Then the dogs you’ve made become the ‘samples’ . You could make your table full of leaflets with order forms for people to take away and then have a raised bit (put a box under yr table cloth) at centre back of table with a dog basket with all your crochet puppies in it looking super cute..so they are the cute eye catching focus to your campaign. If dogs are small, pad the bottom of the dig basket with a nice plain blanket or fabric to push them up in it, use a smaller dog bed if they’re small dogs so doesn’t look empty, put a couple of dog toys as props in with them to fill space etc…I’m sure you could borrow from from the shelter)

If you have a money box on the table you might get donations too

Another idea is have a raffle for the dogs you make. That way you raise more money for less dogs xxx

Hope this helps x deb
