I was wondering…
Which crochet tools feel essential to you (other than crochet hooks, yarn, stitch markers, scissors or darning needles).
Lately for me it’s my neck lamp that I use whenever I crochet now.
And my big moon shaped pillow I put around my waist to rest my arm and crocheting on to not tire my wrist, arm or shoulder. I did overcrochet a few weeks ago and get a bit sore. When I got mine it really helped.
Oh, and in case this helps anyone, I like using the Focus Friend app on my phone. I try now to take a short break after 45 minutes to an hour.
The app is pretty cute. It’s a timer that I set when I start crocheting.
And take a break when the time is done. You get points for using it and then you get to decorate a house with the points. I’ve always loved decorating online so I find it fun. It’s pretty cute.
So those are my three currently.

Needle nosed pliers. Sometimes you need them to pull the needles through. I like your idea of a pillow. I have an arm rest on one side, but the other hangs, and sometimes gets sore.

That’s so interesting. Never though of the pliers.
Love my pillow. The cover life it’d velvety soft and can be removed to wash. It does help to rest both arms on. But also I can rest my crocheting on it. You know how a big work can get heavy to work on? When I just lay it on the pillow right in front of me it also takes the weight off.

A reusable straw to help me jam stuffing into my plushies.
Mini needle nose pliers because sometimes the needles require a little “persuasion”
Positioning pins. I was using darning needles and longer sewing needles for awhile, but I got some positioning pins in a needle felting kit and it was life changing.
My light boxes. They help me take photos and film videos for my patterns so that way they look more professional, bright, and people who test the pattern can see it more easily.
My Kindle Scribe. I use it to make all of my patterns, brain storm new ideas, take notes while I’m out, keep myself organized, access my crochet books, and listen to my audiobooks while I work.
I have a PC game that is basically always open called Spirit City: Lofi Sessions. It’s a cozy focus game where you earn “spirit bucks” to buy decor, outfits, and companion skins. It has a bunch of focus tools built in, including the Pomodoro timer you mentioned, which is part of the Pomodoro Technique created in the 1980s to help prevent burnout. It’s also partnered with the Lofi Girl YouTube channel, so it has great lo-fi music, adjustable lighting, and customizable soundscapes.
This is my character relaxing on the train. My husband jokes that if I ever went missing, he could just show the police my in-game character because I match my IRL outfits to it so closely
(minus the cat ears lol). I’ve put almost 3,000 hours into it over the past 2 years, and I’ve been on a mission to convince the devs to add crocheting as an activity.
Sorry for my mini game ramble (>.<")
Sounds like a good idea to me

That all sounds like useful info to me for the future.
I’ve never made a plushies yet, but I know one day I will.
I so LOVE you little cat knitting. As a lover if both cats and the fiber arts, it just touches me

They have a couple of cat spirit companions in the game, one of which looks like my girl Juniper. I usually have her, the lil cow in one of it’s skins (currently in the strawberry skin), or the “cats-udon” out while I work. I’ve never done any kind of knitting so I hope one day my pleas are heard by the developers and we get our crochet activity lol.
